Medina Goes Gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness

In recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the City of Medina will be Going Gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness by decorating the perimeter of the Medina Square gold from September 15 – 17, 2017. Co-sponsored by the Keira Kilbane Foundation and Camp Quality Ohio, this awareness campaign will be introduced by Mayor Dennis Hanwell at the Gazebo in Medina Square on Friday, September 15th at 1:00 pm.
Come join us if you are available on September 15th at 1:00 p.m. or visit over the weekend of September 15 – 17, 2017 and take photos and post on social media to help spread awareness about childhood cancer.
Additionally the Keira Kilbane Foundation and Camp Quality Ohio are doing a toy and non-perishable food campaign from September 15 – 30, 2017. The toys and food items collected will be donated to the Pediatric Cancer inpatient unit at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s. Several local businesses in the Medina area have agreed to be collection points for the campaign.

Anyone is welcome to donate toys or arts/crafts for children from 0 – 21 years old. The food will be used by the families that are staying at the hospital. Therefore items like individual servings of microwavable macaroni & cheese, soup, tuna, popcorn, individual bags of chips, cans of pop are appreciated.
